Gas logs are easy to use, and offer a great look of a real flame dancing around the logs. They offer many different control options, from a simple turn of a knob, a filp of a wall switch, or a push of a remote button. Gas logs will create heat the minute they turn on, with out all of the hassle of wood. You know you have to get the wood, prepare it, haul it, and storing it. Who wants to really do that. There is little maintence and cleaning that has to be done with a gas log set. You should however get it inspected once a year to make sure it is in fine working order, if it is a vented set you will also want to make sure your chimney is in good repair.
